25 volunteers working on behalf of the Rideau Environmental Action League REAL took to the street, Daniel Street specifically, to depave paradise. The group removed about 100 metres squared of asphalt on a section o stanley termoska f the street between town hall and the library on Saturday, June 19. The towns public works department helped by removing the other two-thirds of Daniel Street before volunteers got to work removing pavement by hand.The removal of the street will create more green space and allow for stanley cups two pollinator gardens, which will be designated monarch way stations. Monarch way stations help promote the breeding and migration of the endangered monarch butterfly. There s already a way station designated at the REAL Deal Reuse Store on William Street West.
