A new study is looking to see just how much food Guelph residents are throwing out, and how much of that waste can be avoided.Launching later this month, the 16-week study by the City of Guelph, Our Food Future Guelph-Wellington 鈥?the organization established to help implement the goals laid out under the city and County of Wellingtons successful Smart Cities bid 鈥?and Kitcheners Eagle Vision Systems will be using technology on the citys waste collection vehicles to measure avoidable food waste.According to a post on Our Food Futures website, the average family in Guelph generates nearly three kilos 6.5 pounds of avoidable food waste every week.
