Bitcoin, the wildly wasteful, inherently speculative cryptocurrency is celebrating the new year by flatlining. According to Bloomberg, Bitcoin recently dipped up to 6%, putting it briefly below the $40,000 mark $39,774 鈥攖he worst start to a year for the cryptocurrency since 2012. Thats over 40% off its peak of nearly $69,000 just a few months ago in November 2021. As of early Monday afternoon, Bitcoin was hovering at around $41,320 in value.
