Scientists have found that the bigger your Facebook friend roster is, the larger your brain is. Researchers at the University College of London wanted to investigate whether hand-wringing over the Internet being bad for humans is really necessary. So they studied brain scans from 125 university students, all of whom were active Facebook users. They compared their brains to the size of the students ; network of friends and found that the gray matter in students with lots of Facebook friends was more voluminous than in people with <a href=https://www.stanley-cups.fr>gourde stanley fewer friends. Gray matter is where the processing happens. Specifically, the amygdala, a region associated with memory and emotional responses, was larger in the friendier Facebook users. An earlier study showed the same brain-size association with number of real-world friends鈥攂ut only in the amygdala. Other regions were larger in relation to stanley shop Facebook friends, but not real-life friends. One example: the right superior temporal sulcus, which, interestingly, helps us perceive moving objects as biological and is associated with autism. The scientists don ;t know whether the larger brain regions are a result of having more friends, or if that particular gray matter might somehow facilitate having more friends, making friend hoarders hard wired to be more s stanley thermobecher ocial. Personally I ;d much rather assume it the former. I hate hard wiring! Change is good. The exciting question now is whether these structures change over time鈥攖his

It seems like not a day goes by without a report of some new cyber security threat. That why, earlier this year, researchers at ESET predicted that mobile malware and localized attacks on modem platforms were some of the most important tech trends for consumers to stay conscious of. Since Android has become the dominant platform in the mobile market, hackers have begun to set their sites on its vulnerabilities. Android malware first appeared in 2010, but the number of variants didn ;t take off until late 2011, setting up 2012 as a year for proliferation. Now, with these types of attacks becoming increasingly commonplace, phone security has gone beyond the threat of losing the device itself, and become focused on protectin <a href=https://www.stanley-cups.fr>stanley fr g the valuable information stored inside said device. CES is j <a href=https://www.stanleycups.at>stanley cup ust around the corner, which means junk like this is showing up in my inbox. Hey, , did stanley cup you put a butt in your email to remind me how shitty your products are Because that what I ;m thinking. And sadly, there are way more butts to come over the next few days. CES, like many industry conventions, will be thick with booth babes鈥攚omen paid to stand around in revealing clothing in order to draw men to the booths and see terrible products. That regrettable. Not only because it is sexist, but also because it just makes your company look like a bunch of undersexed nimrods. If the only way you can get people interested in your product is to have a scantily clad woman appear next to it for no apparent reason, your products are p stanley becher robably awful. And besides, it boring. It just boring. It been done so many times, for so many years, that my only reaction to seeing a booth bunny is to think, Here is a company that is completely out of ideas. Look, technology industry CEOs, if you want to stick a butt in my face, I ;d be way more impressed if you made it your own fat ass. Butter up that big white rump of yours and squeeze it into a little red thong. Strap those mantits into a cheetah bra that lets your pale hairy cleavage see the light of day. If youve ever read the Little House series, youve seen the most famous literary appearance of the Rocky Mountain locust. As the family is happily tending their prosperous farm, they see a strange, glittering cloud moving towards them. The cloud settles overhead, and starts raining locusts. This was the story all over the country. Locusts ate their way through 125,000 square miles of the midwest. They werent deterred by fire or poison. When farmers put up barriers, they ate through them. They could not be stopped. Eventually ,they disappeared and people started planting. Then the eggs they ;d laid in the soil hatched, and it happened all over again again. Since these things didnt happen every year, it was reasonable for people to ask where exactly this onslaught came from. Where were these hordes of insects hiding out And why didnt people see even a single locust when the animals werent swarming The question wasnt answered until 1921, when an entomologist ca
