WTVQ A project taken on by Glenn Marshall Elementary School 3rd grade class has placed benches in various areas around Madison County in memory of slain officer Daniel Ellis.Officer Ellis died in the hospital two days after he was shot by a suspect during a robbery investigation on November 6, 2015.The class project aimed to create benches remembering Ellis out of recycled plastic.In seven months, the school collected 3,100 pounds of plastic for the project, including a 1,700 pound donation from Valvoline, 400 pounds from Simmons elementary School in Versailles.聽 The project was also buoyed by $2,300 dollars in donations from families within the school, the local community, and from the Daniel Ellis Foundation.In all, 9 benches were created and have been placed at B.
