On Feb. 14, 2018, a teenage gunman murdered 14 high school students and three staff members at a high school in Florida. The properties are being targeted for their serious state of disrepair.Grothus purchased the church in 1973 and first called it the Omega Peace Institute but later renamed it the First Church of High Technology. In 1976, he purchased the Mesa Market next door and continued to run it as a grocery store for two years.
