SFNF News:SANTA FE 鈥?The Santa Fe National Forest SFNF today issued a closure or <a href=https://www.stanleycups.cz>stanley cup der to protect public health and safety during fire operations on the Medio Fire.The Medio Fire started Aug. 17 on the ridge between the Rio Nambe and Rio en Medio drainages on the Espa帽ola Ranger District. Courtesy photoFLAC News:Las Aranas Spinners and Weavers Guild Albuquerque and Central New Mexico and Las Tejedoras Fiber Arts Guild Los Alamos, Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico present a tapestry show, the Alphabet Soup Exhibit, at Fuller Lodge Art Centers Portal Gallery Jan. 31鈥?stanley cup March 15.There will be an opening reception for this show, and for Signed Sealed Delivered in the Main Gallery, 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31.The Alphabet Soup Exhibit consists of 31 small tapestries representing letters of the alphabet and the numbers 0-4. The display came out of a joint meeting of the two guild tapestry groups when they decided to collaborate on a project.Twenty-nine weavers decided to participate in this project. Each weaver was assigned a letter or number and created a representational, metaphorical or abstract design using a color scheme of the weavers choosing. The letter or number which is the theme of the piece can be obvious or hidden within the tapestry.Additional tapestries from the two tapestry groups will also be shown as part of the exhibit. These tapestries vary in size and feature a variety of techniques and diverse subject matter.Both Las Aranas and Las Tejedoras Guilds were founded in the early 1970s. What was supposed to be just a soft opening featured a packed house and lots of satisfied customers. It was great, Co-Owner Sam Boese said.The brewery, at 145 Central Park Square, has only be open for about two weeks but people have been very supportive 鈥? were already getting a few regulars, Boese said.Sam, who co-owns t stanley cup he brewery with his brother, George Boese, operates a few other businesses outside of the Los Alamos.Owning a brewery was something they had talked about for years until six years ago when Sam went to beer school and proceeded to work at three different breweries.
