According to the Lexington Police Department, they were contacted around 10:00 p.m. about a truck fleeing from Winchester Police on I-64 towards Lexington.Police say minutes after getting the call, there was a crash on I-75 at the 110 mile marker.According to police, Tammy Rodriguez was running from police when she made an abrupt u-turn at the I-64 and I-75 split and began driving the wrong way on I-75 North.Police say she hit a Chevy Sonic head-on and then a Jeep, causing it to rollover.One of the passengers in Rodriguez ; truck, 35-year-old Debbie Lynn Bevins, of Pikeville, was killed. MINNEAPOLIS AP 鈥?Sixty people have been charged in a widespread magazine telemarketing scam that authorities say netted $300 million from more than 150,000 elderly and vulnerable people nationwide, the U.S. attorneys office in Minnesota announced Wednesday.U.S. Attorney Erica MacDonald called the scam the largest elder fraud scheme in the country.MacDonald said the 60 defendants face a host of charges, including conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud, and violating the Senior Citizens Against Marketing Scams Act of 1994. The defendants are stanley mugs from 14 states and two Canadian provinces. Unfortunately, we live in a world where fraudsters are willing to take advantage of seniors, who are often trusting and polite.
